A no disk error can occur at random when generic ghost drives are listed on your device manager list. The source of these drives are currently unknown.

Remove Fake DrivesEdit

  1. Right-click on My Computer from the start menu (Alternately, you can right-click on "Computer" in Windows Explorer
  2. Select "Manage"
  3. In the management window, choose the "Device Manager" section under "System Tools"
  4. Under "Disk Drives" disable all volumes with a "Generic"
